During this time English language version of Wikipedia is offline and it has been replaced with message related to the anti-piracy legislation going through Congress, SOPA, in the United States.Other language edition remains unaffected, but the SOPA message displayed in top of the page.

What is SOPA?

           SOPA, which stands for the Stop Online Piracy Act, is a piece of legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives. The act is designed to target copyright infringes online through a series of harsh penalties.

          

Reddit also joined hands with Wikipedia and blacked out its website for 12 hours.

Search Engine Giant Google support Wikipedia and Reddit by blacking out its home page.  Wordpress suggesting its users to black out their own website, but its not forcing them to do so.

Leading pharmacy provider Walgreens negotiations with Express Scripts for a new contract were unsuccessful and Walgreens and Express Scripts contract expired on 31st of Dec 2011. Walgreens customers felt this New Year is not good for them, in starting of this year they got disappointed news.  This situation forcing Walgreens patients to go elsewhere and they are supposed to drive farther to get prescription filled at pharmacies.
Walgreens offered to hold flat rates for new contract and Walgreens not seek an increase in rates, but the response from Express Scripts was negative and they also proposed Walgreens to slash reimbursement rates below the interest rates. Check  Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens  here.

What is happening to the customers?

    By excluding Walgreens from its pharmacy network, customers will face the below problem
1)    Increase in rate of pills.
2)    Customer has to travel long distance to get their medicines because Walgreens offers 24 hour support and drive-thru pharmacies than any other pharmacy in the country
3)    By excluding Walgreens insurance card patients will get affected. Express Scripts themselves asked insurance patient to check with the local Walgreens pharmacist to find out they are impacted with this decision.

Express Scripts put America’s military in Trouble
    
Walgreens separate contract for the benefit of Tricare program also rejected by Express Scripts. Tricare is health and prescription drug program for America’s military service men and women.
Note : One of the prestigious Express Scripts client is Tricare.
    
Employers want Walgreens in their pharmacy network
    Recent survey has conducted among 823 executives and managers who are key decision makers for pharmacy benefit program. This program revealed that they do not want to exclude Walgreens from pharmacy network.
